Who was Buddha Taṇhaṅkara?
Millions of years ago, in a world filled with spiritual longing, the first Buddha of this cycle was born. His name was Taṇhaṅkara.

- The Awakening: After realizing the true nature of suffering, he left his palace and attained Supreme Enlightenment under the sacred Saptaparna Tree.
The Meaning of His Name
In the Pali language, "Taṇha" means craving or desire, and "Kara" means to conquer. Thus, Taṇhaṅkara means "The Conqueror of Desire." He was the first to show the world how to find peace by letting go of endless worldly cravings.
